Online Summer School 2020 starting July 6th.

  • School District response to COVID-19

As we look to the future, we are continuing to work with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the Trempealeau County Public Health Department, and legal counsel to consider options for the start of the 2020-21 school year. At this time, plans for school re-entry in the fall are being made for several scenarios.

UPDATE 6/10: Planning for the start of school.

  • Learning Opportunities

Our staff is dedicated to maintaining contact with students throughout this disruption to our school year. We know that relationships are incredibly important. Our staff will be checking in with students during this time.

We want to provide opportunities for students to learn during the two weeks we are closed. While these activities will not be mandatory for completion, teachers will provide two weeks of learning opportunities for students. Elementary students will be provided physical resources to take home that amount to approximately 1-2 hours of learning activities daily. All third through fifth grade students will also take iPads home during this time. Middle and high school students will be provided electronic resources amounting to approximately 3-4 hours of learning activities daily. Teachers will have necessary materials ready for students to take home with them or access digitally. If you did not receive instructional materials from your teacher, you may call the district office at 608-582-4657 to arrange for pick up.

  • Timeline

Governor Evers initially directed the school closure to start March 18 and run through April 5. The Governor has now closed school buildings for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. We are currently under a "Safer at Home" order which suspends all but essential business that lasts until May 26th. We will provide updates as we learn more.

  • Virtual Counseling

During the mandated school closure, the G-E-T student services team will be offering virtual counseling services to students. To request an appointment, please fill out the form below and a counselor, school psychologist, or school social worker will get in touch with you to set up a virtual counseling session. If you need immediate counseling you may use any of the following numbers to talk to someone: call 2-1-1, 1-800-273-8255 or text TALK to 741741.

Schools are closed to increase social distancing which will aid in reducing the transmission of Coronavirus. The most effective way to prevent the spread of this disease is to wash your hands frequently and stay at home. If you were unable to pick up medications before school closed, please call the district office at 608-582-4657 to arrange for pick up.
